Blast Damage

NARAC technical products show the estimated distances at which specific health-related or structural-damage effects may result from a (non-nuclear) detonation of an explosive device. Estimates of potential fatalities, casualties and/or structural damage to different types of buildings are based on overpressure thresholds.

Health effect levels and casualty / fatality estimates assume individuals are outdoors without any protection at the time of the explosion.

PSI: pounds per square inch of pressure
